Nitdroid on the N950
« on: March 25, 2012, 11:26:48 pm »
Ok so I got Nitdroid to work on the N950 the only thing that actually prevented it from working is that the board name is not the same.

So what you should do in order to get nitdroid working on the N950 is this :

ln -s init.nokiarm-696board.rc init.nokiarm-680board.rc
ln -s ueventd.nokiarm-696board.rc ueventd.nokiarm-680board.rc
cd system/lib/hw
ln -s lights.nokiarm-696board.so lights.nokiarm-680board.so
ln -s sensors.nokiarm-696board.so sensors.nokiarm-680board.so

Reboot and you should be good to go.

Sadly didn't work for me, but I think it is because I made a typo on the first run through, writing nokia as nojia :/

Thanks, Works great over here too!

The only thing that bothers me is that the numbers doesnt work (the "fn" button). It acts as a shortcut/quick launch button for some apps like calculator.

I hope we can solve this out together with e-yes :)

Thank you e-yes and everybody that got involved into NITDroid!

Sad to see #eliteclub users don't read release notes.

Crevetor, could you post photo/video demo?

e-yes, here's a video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMRd5iTooi8
Thanks.
Do you have an idea why it takes so long to open menu in launcher after start?

I have editted the files and compressed them again for the n950.

Extract them using tar -xjvf /path/to/download -C /

Tar file can be found here https://build.pub.meego.com/package/show?package=nninefiftydroid&project=home%3AMFaroTusino

make sure you also have the latest sillyboot. This can be found at the above link as well

I don't know about him.. but I don't have that problem.

I also took a (better) video. It shows some errors that the N950 has like:
  • Screen orientation is still active while the keyboard is slide out.
  • No backlight on the keyboard
  • Numbers doesn't work (pressing fn + numbers are shortcuts at the moment)
  • Some buttons like "@" are different chars.
  • "Sym"(symbol) button is the "options" button
  • No virtual keyboard available while the keyboard is slide in

Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NeLkX6-6550

By the way, the "Vol-up" button of my N950 is broken (it was already like that when I received it)
I found out that I can trigger the Vol-up button by pressing "Arrup-up + Ctrl + Arrow-down" buttons.

so shall i use the one given here http://harmattan-dev.nokia.com/release/N950/firmware/ or the same which is used for n9?

What are the changes?

The changes needed to work, so simply extract them (nninefiftydroid and sillyboot) to / and all is well :)
