Hi everybody,
i've been trying to install the fantastic nitdroid on my gorgeous n900 since two months ago.. since then i flashed my phone over a hundred times.. just to see some word like Android displayed in the boot screen.. till now, all attempts seem to fail.. each time i successfully unpack the tar file on to the /and folder which i create in the root destination "Nokia-N900" and mount it to mmcblk1p2 which it's an ext3 partition and dpkg the kernel after installing multiboot kernel and try to boot to nitdroid... the device fails to boot again and has to be reflashed... i'm certain every step i make is right.. but not sure what causes the problem... here is what i do hopping that someone's gonna help me find the issue:
after i install rootsh from the app manager i end that snail task and jump into x terminal.. and here is what i write there:
root
apt-get install leafpad multiboot cfdisk bzip2
mkdir /and
umount /mmcblk1p1
cfdisk /dev/mmcblk1 (in this step i partition my ssd card)
mkfs.ext3 /dev/mmcblk1p2
mount /dev/mmcblk1p2 /and
cd /and
bzip2 -d /home/user/MyDocs/**********.tar.bz2
tar xvf /home/user/MyDocs/**********.tar
dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/"the nidroid kernel package whatever its name is .deb"
then I leafpad the .item file created by the nitdroid kernel installer on the multiboot directory in /etc
and change the ITEM_DEVICE to mmcblk1p2 (tried to leave it alone but didn't work)
i reboot when i choose 2 for nitdroid a lot of words start to pop up and then the device freezes at A N D R O I D , i remember the last line contains "ops a problem occurred"
when i remove the battery then place it back.. i try to boot maemo but it freezes when i hit any key at the Multiboot screen
please .. someone.. help?

??
note i'm not noob but my desperation made my post this topic
