the problem is : archos doesn't have gps driver , it's one thing to start from scrach and another one to modify something acording your needs, i know how it's atached , it's a whole thread on maemotalk

Okay, i've a little think about it, and i'm not shure of the structure of kernel/driver

driver are into the kernel, but the kernel is compiled, so whe cant just get it from the stock kernel of maemo, right?
so why we dont take driver into the kernel power to port it on android?

I have some problem.
When I'm starting my n900 with opend keyboard u-boot is loading default maemo kernel (maemo just starting), and says something about "unable to read "bootmenu.src" blah-blah"
Please help me. I have no enought ideas how to solwe this trouble.
I tryed to copy boot.src to bootmenu.src, but isnt work.
I tryed to change text in bootmenu.src: delete some unreadable chars in UTF-8.

/dev/mmcblk1p1 formated as msdos partition (used mkfs.msdos /dev/mmcblk1p1 as root).
/dev/mmcblk1p2 formated as ext3 using mkfs.ext3 /dev/mmcblk1p2 and data at partition modified as TS sayd in his howto.

And power51 kernel is not loading. U-boot loads omap1 kernel.
Also, if it help, when starting, u-boot ignoring any keys I pressed.

But u-boot still loading omap1.
Now it writes "Reading bootmenu.src" and loading omap1.
jeratul, try to run u-boot-update-bootmenu with root access. Maybe it will help.

I instaled N12 in mmcblk0p5, replace the intd.nokia.rc and success booted in Android by command "run emmcboot" but the 3g data network is not working

Perhaps mobile banking in N900 can be done through NITdroid, hence
sms function is working well (i've tried several times inserting it in
system/app w/o luck showing in the drawer, installing too likewise)

now every things worked for me except camera and voice call. I tried to replace camd file in /system/maemo/bin but the camera still don't work. Do you have any solution ?

hey im new to the forum and still a bit noobish but i did follow the instillation process to the letter but i ran into a problem with battery drain so i charge batteries over night i have 2 of the but i boot into nitdroid umay 12 but the batts only last 15-20 min but in maemo thay last out what am i missing

STK functionality is *NOT* implemented in RIL. So, even if this apk is present, you can't see it in launcher, because it is useless any way.

So after several months without an n900, my brother gave me his n900 for a day and I managed to accelerate it with the 2.6.28 kernel (did some tricks to the DDK scripts). It is now really fluent - will upload a video these days (i will first try manual syncing which is commented out in the ddk)
EDIT: i had to add vram=32M omapfb.vram=0:16M ot the bootargs

In regards to phone calls not working. These guys who are porting Arch Linux to the N900 have had some luck, Maybe there is information there that could be used to get phone calls working in NITDroid. Here is the link
