ya i tried to install super user which is updated for ics but alas no use

Well, download su (http://downloads.nitdroid.com/e-yes/experimental/su)
put it to /system/bin/ directory (in NITDroid)

adb shell:
chown 0.0 /system/bin/su
chmod 6755 /system/bin/su

...and install SuperSU (former name: Superuser) from Market...
